Day 2 at Stampin’ Up! Leadership 2014

Hello from Houston!

Today was another eventful day at Leadership.  I learned so much in all of my classes and make and take session.  Yes, even demonstrators love to put together make and takes!:)

P1080695 I learned that the new Occasions Catalog has a newly designed layout with you in mind.

•Have you noticed that coordinating products have been bundled together at a 15% savings?  Turn to page 18 to see the Calypso Coral box visually jumping out to say “Bundle and Save!”  Peachy Keen and On Film Framelits Dies are bundled together (Wood #135224, Clear #135225) because they are designed to match.  So, it is a smart idea to buy the bundle at its discounted price.

•Have you noticed how nice it is to see product kits side by side with its finished project?  Turn to page 21 where you can see the Springtime Hello Simply Created Garland Kit (#133330).  One pic shows the elements in the kit side by side with the completed project.  The same goes for the Burlap and Blooms Simply Created Wreath Kit (#133333), too. Make sure to check out all 5 kits in the Occasions Catalog to see how everything you need has been thoughtfully included in the kit; well everything except adhesive and scissors!:) Below is a close up of the wreath.  How cute would this be with the flowers changed out for each season?!

•Have you noticed how the Designer Series Paper is rolled, allowing you to easily see patterns on both sides of the paper?  Turn to page 23 to see how the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper (#132994) leaps off of the page.  Plus I love how Stampin’ Up! shows us one of the hottest trends going in paper crafting, the Polaroid pictures; hence our On Film Framelits!

•Have you noticed how you can easily see the punches and framelits that are designed to coordinate with certain stamps in a set?  Turn to page 25 to see how the Language of Love stamp set (Wood #133074, Clear #133077) has Pool Party border around one of the stamps.  This visually indicates a matching framelit, while the So Saffron borders indicate a coordinating punch.

•Have you noticed that QR codes (the small Calypso Coral code boxes) have been placed next to some of the products and kits?  Turn to page 31 to see one of my favorite kits.  Scan the QR code next to the Happenings Simply Created Card Kit (#133329) to watch a short video about the kit.  (leave a message for me if you need help downloading a QR reader on your smart phone or tablet.)  I will have more to share with you over the coming days, so sign up for the RSS feed so you don’t miss anything!:)

Take Care,

Jennifer

Day 1 at Stampin’ Up Leadership 2014

Happy Thursday, Crafters!  And Greetings from Stampin’ Up! Leadership 2014!

P1080695First off, is a picture with my new purse, complements of Stampin’ Up!  It is a gorgeous Smokey Slate patent bag with chevrons on it.  What a nice way to start the day off for a girl:  surrounded by great friends and a great new purse!:)

P1080701

So, yes today was our first day of Leadership 2014 and we had so many exciting announcements!  The first was when Stampin’ Up! Founder and CEO, Shelli Gardner walked on stage after many broken bones from a terrible horse riding accident.  We were all surprised to see her there to deliver a heartfelt speech to her Stampin’ Up! leaders!  Amazing!

P1080702A few of the announcements that were heard were about new products that Stampin’ Up! will have available soon.  **Just know that as a demonstrator, I am prohibited from showing pictures of the actual product until it is released.  However, I am able to show pictures of projects using the products.

The first new product is an alcohol-based marker set called Blendabilities.  Each color offered will have a light, medium and dark marker in the set for $11.95.

See below for available colors: Old Olive, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, Calypso Corral, Cherry Cobbler, Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy, Wisteria Wonder, Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie and Smokey Slate.  We will even carry a skin tone assortment set and a color lifter marker to erase color accidents.

P1080741You will stamp your image on Whisper White Cardstock using Memento Ink Pad, an ink pad specifically formulated to be used with alcohol-based markers.  This ink will not turn muddy when blending with Blendabilities!

Another exciting product coming soon is a new personalized photopolymer stamp.  You will be given 4 lines of personalization that will be perfect for using when making your wedding invitations.  Or how about giving a personalized stamp to your child’s teacher?  Pictured below you can see the words “Awesome”, “Excellent Work”, and “Mrs. Baker” on this one.  The possibilities are endless!:)

P1080733 And last but not least is a new alphabet photopolymer stamp set that has 2 different sets of letters in it.  Photopolymer is the perfect choice for this application because of its “clearly” innate ability to see thru the acrylic block for perfect placement on your project.  Below are 2 projects using this set.  The first is a Valentine’s Day card spelling out “L-O-V-E” and the second is a birthday gift card holder spelling out “H-A-P-P-Y”.

P1080722P1080723Check back tomorrow for more things to come from Stampin’ Up!:)

Take Care,

Jennifer
