Halloween Hello

Chalk Talk Holder for Halloween Treats

Greetings Paper Crafters!

Chalk Talk Halloween Treat HolderHere’s another Halloween treat holder I wanted to share with you.  This one uses the Chalk Talk Bundle which combines the two coordinating products (stamp set and framelits) at a savings of 15% off the separate list prices!

The wood mount Chalk Talk stamp set/framelit Bundle is #132731, $43.25.  And the clear mount Chalk Talk stamp set and framelit Bundle is #132730, $37.25.    Use the stamp set first to create your desired image and then cut it out using the Framelits, Magnetic Platform (#130658, $39.95) and the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine (#113439, $99.95).

Here are the products in the Bundle:

In addition to the Bundle listed above you will need:

-8½ x 11″ Basic Black cardstock (#121045, $6.95), cut at 2-3/8  x  3-5/8″ (for the treat holder base)

-8½ x 11″ Very Vanilla cardstock (#101650, $6.95), cut at 2½ x 3½ (stamp in Pumpkin Pie ink pad (#126945 $5.95) and cut with rounded edge Framelit)

-12 x 12″ Witches’ Brew Designer Series Paper (#132185, $10.95), cut at 2-3/16 x 6″ and score at 3½ and 3¾”.  Fold on the 3¾” score line and adhere to the Basic Black cardstock base. Once adhered, you will need to punch a 1/2″ circle (punch #119869, $5.95) at the top of the holder to feed the ribbon thru the hole.

-3/4″ Basic Black Chevron ribbon (#130010, $8.95 for 10 yards) cut one at 6″ piece (you will later fray) for the top and another at 16″ to wrap around the treat holder.  (this keeps the treat in place)

-1/8″ Basic Black Taffeta ribbon (#119261, $5.95) cut at 6″ to knot around the Chevron ribbon. (below is a side view with the DSP pulled out from under the ribbon)

Chalk Talk Treat Holder, side viewNow for the skull tag:

-Very important: rub the cardstock first with the Embossing Buddy (#103083, $5.95) to keep the glitter on just the image.

-Ink the skull stamp (from the Halloween Hello Stamp set (Wood #131718, $18.95 or Clear #131721, $14.95) on Very Vanilla cardstock (small scrap) in Versa Mark (#102283, $7.50).

-Then sprinkle Heat and Stick Powder (#100625, $4.50) over the image.  Shake excess powder off and return to container.

-Use Heat Tool (#129053, $29.95) just  until the powder turns shiny.

-Then sprinkle Black Stampin’ Glitter (#132206, $7.95 for 2 containers: black and orange), covering the image.  Shake off excess glitter and return to container.  Use Heat Tool and reheat the image to set the glitter into place.

-Punch out the skull image using the 1″ Circle Punch 9#119868, $12.95).

-Punch out Basic Black cardstock using the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch (#119861, $15.95).   Pop the skull circle onto the back circle using 1 Stampin’ Dimensional ($104430, $3.95 for 300).

-Adhere to the middle of the Framleit cut out using Snail adhesive.

Chalk Talk w/candy-side view-Place your desired candy of choice into the pouch and tie the Chevron ribbon around to contain the candy.  (Hershey Fun Size Candy Bars, not miniatures, worked great!)

-Add a button, if desired, using a mini glue dot.

Skull tag-Slide the skull tag under the Chevron ribbon.

Wrapped Hershey Nuggets for Halloween Treat Holders

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Halloween Treat Holders for Hershey NuggetsHappy Halloween…just a little early!  Before I get into the supplies needed for this project, make sure you click on the “Shop Online” link to the left so you can get everything you need for Halloween now in order to get a jump start on making these adorable Halloween goodies!  Thank you in advance for your order! :)

These are the wrapped Hershey Nuggets that are inside the Halloween themed treat holders.

Here’s a Trick of the Trade:

-First cut a 3 x 12″ piece of Designer Series Paper. (TIP: make sure the design is going in the best direction for your project BEFORE you cut).

-The run a piece of Sticky Strip (#104294, $6.95 for 10 yards) along the 12″ side of paper.

-Normally, you would cut your paper into 1 x 3″ pieces.  But with the specially designed paper in the Witches’ Brew DSP, see below (the design is screaming to be used to wrap Nuggets!), you will need to cut them at 1-1/8″ instead of 1″.  You will first have to cut off a little bit on each side so the sentiment design (“Eat if You Dare”) lines up on top of the Nugget.

Bats about You Wrapped NuggetNow aren’t these guys cute? I first saw them on Page 5 of the Holiday Catalog.  Well that is not totally true…I passed them up MANY times when I first started flipping thru this awesome catalog! lol!  Then one day, I saw them!  OOOH, I can make those!  So here’s what I did:

-Cut out an 8 x 3″piece of Smoky Slate Cardstock (#131202, $6.95)

-Apply Sticky Strip (#104294, $6.95 for 10 yards) along the 8″ edge of the cardstock.

-Cut the cardstock into 1 x 3″ strips.

-Use Versa Mark to stamp the “Bats About You” sentiment from Halloween Hello stamp set (Wood Mount #131718, $18.95 or Clear Mount #131721, $14.95) onto the cardstock.  Since he sentiment is longer than it is wide, you will stamp it in the middle of the 3″ piece of paper…but going up and down (not side to side).

-Sprinkle Black Embossing Powder (#109133, $4.75) on top of the stamped image and pour excess back into the container.  Shake any excess powder off and heat with the Heat Tool (#129053, $29.95).  For the wings, see yesterday’s post for the Bat Purse.  Apply the wings to the back of the Nugget using Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430, $3.95)

I used Witches’ Brew Designer Series Paper (#132185, $10.95 for 12 sheets of 12  x12″ paper).
