Santa Anti Bacterial Bottles

Happy Black Friday, Crafters!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday!  I did, even though we “ate out” this year.

"Santa" tizers Anti Bacterial HolderHere are some cute “Santa”tizers that hold anti bacterial bottles.   I am crazy about them and have made tons of them over the last month to share with my hostess group and other friends.  I plan on making these to give as teacher gifts, too.

BOX=3½ x 5½” Real Red Cardstock (#102482, $6.95), lengthwise score at 2¼”, 3¼”; rotate and score at 1″ and 2½”.  Use bone folder on all scores. Cut (just to the score line) the small 1″ center scores to make tabs.

TRICK OF THE TRADE:  if you are making these cuties in bulk, remember to score your paper first, then cut!:)  I begin with a piece of cardstock that is 7 x 11″.  Then I score it in both directions and then cut in half length and width wise to get 4 boxes from one sheet.

BELT-3/4 x 5½” Basic Black Cardstock (#121405, $6.95 for a pack of 24 sheets), scored at:  1-1/8″, 2-1/8″, 3¾, 4-13/16 (one mark past 4¾).  Wrap around the box and adhere using Tombow Multipurpose Glue (#110755, $3.95).

BUCKLE:  1¼ x 12″ Silver Glimmer Paper.  Punch in the center using Petite Curly Label Punch (#129405, $12.95) .  Then go back over the negative image and punch using the 1″ Square Punch (#124094, $15.95).  Then use the 3/16″ Corner Rounder Punch (#119871, $6.95).  This will perfectly round the edges of the buckle for a finished look.

One thing that will make this craft super easy for you is the fact that you can simply print off the “Santa” tizer Tags here:

"Santa" tizer tags here!I made them in My Digital Studio using the Scallop Oval Punch as a template to easily line up the wording.  That way the words perfectly fit 4 on a page to be punched out using your Scallop Oval Punch (#119856, $16.95).  The just use the Decorative Label Punch (#120907, $16.95) for the tag base.  Add 1/4″ Silver Ribbon (#132137, $4.95 for 10 yards) for the handle.

Let me know if you have questions!

Ornament Keepsakes, Digitally Speaking

 Good Sunday Morning, Crafters!

So, I want to know, “What are you doing with  YOUR digital downloads?”.  Sunday’s confession:  I did not purchase last year’s Ornament Keepsakes and matching Holiday Ornament framelits (#127816, $24.95) .  However, the stamp set is still available (wood mount #128048, $34.95 or clear mount #128051, $25.95)  if you want to make this year’s Christmas cards with it!

Finally, I decided to purchase it as a digital download (#131360, $6.95) to use with My Digital Studio (MDS).

Amanda's Ornaments-001 I just made a sample Christmas card for a friend.  I wanted to show her how quickly she can digitally design a beautiful Christmas card….and print it off as many times as she needs!

What is so special about this is I wanted to show her how MDS can work with her Cameo electronic cutter (e-cutter).  Check back Wednesday to see the results!:)

The design in My Digital Studio:

-Open the software and develop a custom sized project at 8-1/2 x 11″.

-Go to Background Paper and fill it with Cherry Cobbler.

-Go to Punches: pick and apply a square punch.  Right click to edit object to 1.625 x 3″ (1-5/8 x 3). Copy it so you have 2 objects.  Then fill one with Crumb Cake cardstock. (to create the top left image) and the other with Early Espresso. (For this one, choose your favorite stamp and apply it, then recolor using the Watermark choice.

-Again to punches to pick and apply a circle punch.  Right click to edit to .5″ (1/2″) and fill it with Very Vanilla cardstock.  Copy it 2 times.

-To line up the circles,  hold down the Control Button and left click each circle to choose it.  Once all 3 circles are highlighted, click the “align” button, then choose “top”.  While they are still highlighted, right click and choose “group”.  You can then copy this group to fill your object (punch and paper).  I also used the half circle punch too!

-The bottom image is a square punch, edited to 1.875  x  3.5 (1-7/8 x 3.5)…filled with Crumb Cake cardstock.  Stamps are re-colored in Early Espresso.

Tricks of the Trade:  If your stamped image falls outside lines of the desired object, simply pick and apply a square punch…and fill it with cardstock colored the same as your background paper. (in this case, I edited a square punch to be 1/2 x 4″ and colored it Cherry Cobbler…and moved it on top of the Season Greetings image.  This allowed my overlapping stamped image to be covered up!:)

Are you having problems getting your desired effect with your digital designs?  Click on the “Email Me” button on the top right and let me know how I can help!:)

I look forward to helping you with your crafting needs, from traditional to digital!

No Peeking MDS Gift Tags using Silhouette Cameo

Hi There Crafters!

Yesterday, I was playing around making Christmas tags for our family’s gifts that we are sending out.  So, I started out designing them with My Digital Studio 2 (MDS (#130910)) and the No Peeking digital  stamp set (#132849).   No Peeking TagsI wanted them kind of big, but small enough to print out 4 on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  (and easily print and cut 12 tags)  You may not be able to tell from the picture, but they are about 3 inches wide by about 4 inches long.

With the new capabilities of MDS2, I was able to make them the size I wanted.  With MDS2 you can zoom in and color each part of the penguin’s hat and scarf.  The brush image appears black when imported into your project.  Then you just go in and color each element just the way you want it.

No Peeking Tags4

Here I colored his hat Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy with a bit of Regal Rose on the top and to offset the stripes.

But again, you have the ability to color the digital image (the penguin in this case) any color you want…you could even match your holiday wrapping paper!

Once you get the image colored the way you want, save it in MDS.  Then go to “Project”, “Share”, “Export Pages”.  You will be able to save your MDS project as a large jpeg and import it into the Cameo’s free software to be able to print and then cut the images automatically.

Hopefully, you enjoyed seeing my gift tags and maybe learned a little something along the way!:)  I am happy to answer any questions you may have about how to use MDS2 with Cameo’s printing and cutting capabilities. Please leave a comment for me below.
