Stampin’ Up! Tag Topper Punches

Greetings Crafters!

Today is another snow day for the kids in the Wake County, NC area.  Wahoo!:)  This gives me a chance to be at home and show off the two new tag topper punches that are in the 2014 Spring Occasions Catalog:  the Angled Tag Topper Punch (#133323, $22.95) and the  Scalloped Tag Topper Punch (#133324, $22.95).  Click the image below to see the video.

Both of these punches are the new style punches that lock closed and store flat.  They are quite beefy!

Place a piece of 2″ wide cardstock all the way inside the punch (until you feel it hit the top) and press down to create a beautiful top for a tag or bookmark.  It even cuts out the hole for  you so you can run a piece of ribbon or baker’s twine through it.

The nice thing about these punches is the versatility.  By just varying the length of the cardstock or Designer Series Paper, you can create many different projects such as a gift tag, book mark or treat holder.

1). Gift Tag: Cut a piece that is 5″ long and 2″ wide.  Stamp, embellish and add to a package or gift bag.

Scalloped Tag Topper TagsTrick of the Trade:  Half way punch out the butterfly (Elegant Butterfly Punch #127526, $15.95) to get the effect that it is flying off of the page (below, left).  Layer with small butterfly from the Bitty Butterfly Punch (#129406, $15.95) and add an embellishment of your choice.  (Glimmer Brad shown)

Half Punched Butterfly2). Book Mark:  Cut a piece that is 6″ or 7″ long and 2″ wide.  Stamp, add ribbon and slip into a book for a friend.

Below I used Geometrical Stamp Set (Wood #133158, $29.95 or Clear #133161, $21.95) with the Triangle Punch (#133375, $15.95) and Essentials Wooden Elements (#132258, $4.95 for 32 pieces).  Using the Fringe Scissors (#133325, $9.95), I added some more texture at the bottom.

Book Marks

3). Treat Holder:  Cut a piece that is 7.25″.  Score at 3.25″ and 3.75″.  Place candy inside.  Tie with ribbon.

Below, I paired Coastal Cabana cardstock and Strawberry Slush ink and ribbon with the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set of 6 (Wood #133182, $25.95 or Clear #133185,$18.95 ) along with Starburst Framelit Dies (#132967, $26.95 for a set of 5).

You can SAVE 15% if you purchase the stamp set and framelits together in the bundle Wood#134817, $44.95 or Clear #134818, $38.95)Tag Topper Treat Holder-side

I hope these ideas give you some ways to use the tag topper punches.  It is the simplicity of these projects that make them so wonderful!

Jennifer

Santa Anti Bacterial Bottles

Happy Black Friday, Crafters!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday!  I did, even though we “ate out” this year.

"Santa" tizers Anti Bacterial HolderHere are some cute “Santa”tizers that hold anti bacterial bottles.   I am crazy about them and have made tons of them over the last month to share with my hostess group and other friends.  I plan on making these to give as teacher gifts, too.

BOX=3½ x 5½” Real Red Cardstock (#102482, $6.95), lengthwise score at 2¼”, 3¼”; rotate and score at 1″ and 2½”.  Use bone folder on all scores. Cut (just to the score line) the small 1″ center scores to make tabs.

TRICK OF THE TRADE:  if you are making these cuties in bulk, remember to score your paper first, then cut!:)  I begin with a piece of cardstock that is 7 x 11″.  Then I score it in both directions and then cut in half length and width wise to get 4 boxes from one sheet.

BELT-3/4 x 5½” Basic Black Cardstock (#121405, $6.95 for a pack of 24 sheets), scored at:  1-1/8″, 2-1/8″, 3¾, 4-13/16 (one mark past 4¾).  Wrap around the box and adhere using Tombow Multipurpose Glue (#110755, $3.95).

BUCKLE:  1¼ x 12″ Silver Glimmer Paper.  Punch in the center using Petite Curly Label Punch (#129405, $12.95) .  Then go back over the negative image and punch using the 1″ Square Punch (#124094, $15.95).  Then use the 3/16″ Corner Rounder Punch (#119871, $6.95).  This will perfectly round the edges of the buckle for a finished look.

One thing that will make this craft super easy for you is the fact that you can simply print off the “Santa” tizer Tags here:

"Santa" tizer tags here!I made them in My Digital Studio using the Scallop Oval Punch as a template to easily line up the wording.  That way the words perfectly fit 4 on a page to be punched out using your Scallop Oval Punch (#119856, $16.95).  The just use the Decorative Label Punch (#120907, $16.95) for the tag base.  Add 1/4″ Silver Ribbon (#132137, $4.95 for 10 yards) for the handle.

Let me know if you have questions!

What’s a Pirate’s Favorite Chocolate?

Happy Monday, Crafters!

Owl Pirate, close upDid you figure out my little riddle?  No?

Well… a pirate’s favorite chocolate is Ghir “Argh” delli Chocolate!:)

OK, I am a little silly this Monday morning!  Hope you didn’t snort coffee out of your nose…:)

I sent these little cuties to my customers this month as my little way of saying “Thank You!” I think he is adorable and I hope you do, too!

I used the Owl Builder Punch (#118704, $16.95) for the body and bandana and the Elegant Butterfly Punch (#127526, $15.95) for his wings. (using Basic Black cardstock).

I used small scraps of Witches’ Brew Designer Series Paper (#132185, $10.95) for his vest.  I also added 3 small pearls (#119247, $4.95).  Even a pirate needs a little bling!:)

He is popped up on this little treat holder using Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430, $3.95 for 300 dots).

Owl Pirate Treat HolderHere is a full view of the treat holder that my pirate sits on.  It is a perfect way to give Ghirardelli, or Ghir “Argh” delli Chocolates!:)

-Start with a piece of 6×6 Designer Series Paper. (I used Witches’ Brew DSP.)

-Fold in half on the diagonal.

-Fold the right side of the triangle and pull it over to the left side and crease well.

-Repeat on the left side and adhere down using SNAIL.

-Then pull the top part of the triangle straight down to create a pocket.  And adhere  this part down, too.

If you need more directions, please let me know in the comment section below.
